From a classically trained background, he has branched out and picked up other genres to stay relevant in the ever changing music industry. He writes music online for indie video games and films. Clarence is also experienced with both kids and adults and has real music industry experience as a practicing composer.

Daisy completed a Master’s Degree in Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music. Additionally, she took exams with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) to continually improve herself. She attained the ABRSM Grade 8 certifications in Theory of Music, Piano, and Singing to enhance her skills and teaching abilities.

With a decade of full-time teaching experience and more than 10 years of offering private lessons, Daisy has a wealth of teaching experience. All of her students have achieved 100% pass rates in their music exams under her guidance. More importantly, Daisy focuses on nurturing her students’ overall development and character through her passion for teaching. Deborah has been teaching mainly piano and music theory, and a little of electone/keyboard, for slightly over 10 years. She is currently with a music school and also has a pool of private students. Her students range from 4 years olds to working professionals and retirees. She has experience with teaching various nationalities such as German, Korean, Japanese, Chinese and British.

Deborah offers ABRSM and Trinity Guildhall examination preparations, as well as leisure playing. Some of the genres enjoyed by her students include English/Mandarin Oldies/Evergreens, Classical, Jazz/Blues, Latin, Disney Classics, Dramas/Mangas OST, J-Pop and K-pop.

Gwei U was an ex full-time teacher and has been teaching piano to many students for many years. She attended the professional development course by ABRSM as well as other music organisations.

Gwei U also brings her students to attend master classes whenever international pianists come to town. Aside from that, she also conducts yearly piano recitals, Christmas recitals and also participates to various competition organised by local music organisations.

Her student won third prize at the Richard Clayderman competition and also third prize in the South East Asia Youth Festival piano competition. Gwei U also lets her students participate in competitions whenever there is an opportunity to do so.

Ivan has been a piano tutor since 2017 whilst studying in university. He is currently pursuing a Diploma in Piano. Thanks to years of experience under her belt, Jasmine utilizes an effective range of specialised teaching techniques to make lessons fun and enjoyable. This has allowed her to build rapport and connect with students of all ages and skill levels. She is also thorough when it comes to preparing her students for the graded exams.

A strong believer that music is for anyone with a willing heart to learn, Jasmine has organized recitals to showcase the musical abilities of her students.

Joanne has been in the teaching field since 2010. She had the privilege to be under the tutelage of Alice Yap, Master Degree from Hochschule fur Kirchenmusik Heidelberg, Germany, who is a lecturer in SUSS as well as the director of a music School; James Yap, Master Degree from Hochschule fur Kirchenmusik Heidelberg, Germany, who is also a lecturer at NAFA.

Joanne is also actively involved in community events and has rich experience in different settings of performance. Under her coaching, students improved tremendously on their scale and sight-reading through repertoires beyond the exam syllabus. Furthermore, to improve student’s performance skills, she organize recitals to prep students.

Karen has been a full-time private piano teacher since 2012, teaching ABRSM practical and theory. She has taught students ranging from a very young age all the way to adults. She also teaches students who are playing for leisure and prefer learning at a more relaxed pace without the pressure of taking exams. Most of her students have achieved high passing rates with a Distinction or Merit in their ABRSM piano exams.

In Karen’s lessons, she teaches students to develop patience, a sense of pitch and rhythm, musicality and expression. She guides them to acquire the right finger technique to produce the right tone and articulation that will help them to bring out the best quality in their music. For young beginners, Karen uses step-by-step teaching method books combined with flashcards, musical apps, visual rhythms and games to engage them in musical activities.

Leon has been teaching piano as a private teacher since 2010. He previously worked and taught in a music school while he was studying in Leicester, United Kingdom. Now he is a full-time piano teacher experienced in training students for ABRSM, Trinity Syllabus and LCM syllabus.

Teaching piano has in fact made Leon a better pianist, musician, person and even father. What he did not expect were the great relationships/bonds he developed with his students and also the parents/families.

Minghui is a full-time piano teacher and has been teaching piano since 2003. She is qualified with LTCL in Piano and a diploma in teaching. She can teach both for exam (following ABRSM or Trinity syllabus) or just for leisure, both practical as well as theory. She has experience in teaching children as young as 3.5 years old and up to 50 years old.

Minghui focuses on teaching the right techniques, rhythm and to inculcate musical awareness to her students so that they will not only know how to play, but also to be able to express the music well. Her students are also taught to appreciate a wide range of repertoire from classical to modern jazz and pop, and are encouraged to perform in the yearly student concert that she organises.

The past 15 years of teaching 30 odd students have given Minghui the skills to teach each individual student with methods that suits his/her particular temperament and learning style. Her students have obtained 100% passes in ABRSM exams, with most of them obtaining merits and distinctions and even high distinctions. She also has experience coaching students enrolled in ‘O’ and ‘A’ level MEP programmes.

Regina holds a degree in music from Leeds University and is a holder of Distinctions for ABRSM piano exams. Wendy’s significant contribution to society was via The Pistorio Foundation charity dinner which raised $100k in November 2009 as piano accompanist as well as performing for the annual student recital under John Monteiro International 2008-2010. In 2011, she trained for Piano Adventures expert course in piano to benefit her students in piano technique.

From 2012, Wendy embarked on the challenging but fulfilling task of teaching the music PAL programs at various Primary School when she registered and was approved by the Ministry of Education (MOE) Art and Music Instructor Scheme (AMIS) certification in the same year. She coaches piano students from as early as 2000 and teaches mainly children from the age of 3.5 years and up.

Yee Shen is a composer, pianist and music educator. He has played classical piano and pop piano in many occasions, and have taught many different music students with different needs and expectations for their own musical journey.

He initiated and directed LASALLE College of the Arts’ composers’ concerts ‘The Living Composers Series’ (2019-2022), where he composed and performed multiple pieces. Yee Shen also produced the digital piano album, ‘The Living Composer Series: Piano Anthology’, in which he performed 2 original piano pieces. Aside from that, he also composed, arranged, performed and improvised for the LASALLE Piano Voyage concerts. Yee Shen has performed in various ensembles: classical chamber, pop bands, piano ensemble and so forth.

Yeng Ling is a friendly and patient piano teacher with more than 20 years of teaching experience. Zai An’s interest in music began at a young age, and he has always been intrigued by various genres of music. Upon graduating in 2019, with a Diploma in Music at LASALLE College of The Arts, majoring in pop piano, he picked up various techniques of playing multiple keyboard instruments. He has since become comfortable with playing genres such as pop, alternative music and R&B.

Zai An has performed in venues around the island such as The Esplanade Outdoor Stage, Barbershop by Timbre, Gateway Theatre as well as Victoria Theatre. He was also nominated for American Music Abroad (AMA) Academy in 2019, where he had the opportunity to perform abroad, in Bangkok, Thailand under the AMA Academy Program and at Bangkok Arts and Culture Centre together with musicians from all across Asia.

Zai An has had a passion for learning as well as sharing his knowledge with others. He believes that music is a universal language and that can further bring joy into the lives of other people. He hopes to continue to expand and share his knowledge with his students as he guides them on their music journey.
